Philippa Woolf Scholarships
About the Scholarship
Overview
The Philippa Woolf Scholarship, proudly supported by ACIM Solutions since 2020, offer 14 AWE members the opportunity to build skills, knowledge and capacity through accredited study. This year’s unit is PUATEA003 Lead, Manage and Develop Teams, a nationally recognised unit that can be credited towards the Certificate IV of Public Safety (Leadership) or the Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management).
This unit focuses on:
- Leadership behaviours
- Developing teams, including coaching and mentoring
- Emotional intelligence and leadership in difficult situations
- Training and development, including Training Needs Analyses (TNAs)
A highlight of the scholarship is the cohort study model. Following a virtual meet and greet session, members study together online over two sessions in June 2026, helping to build networks and peer-to-peer relationships with others in the emergency sector.
This course is designed to help you:
- Strengthen your leadership skills and confidence
- Develop your ability to lead and support teams in emergency contexts
- Build connections with peers from across Australia
- Gain a nationally accredited unit of competency
The scholarships are designed to build the skills and capabilities of women who are younger, newer to leadership roles and/or working in volunteer roles. We are also seeking representation from across Australian states and territories.
All AWE members are eligible to apply.
